Being of the Christian persuasion, many of my fellow believers told me that I was crazy for not getting behind Ron Paul. For some reason, I had to just say no (and it didn't cost me a penny).

Frankly, until recently, this election has been as stimulating as watching Donald Trump comb his hair. That being said, I did get a bit excited when Huckabee won in Iowa and placed third in New Hampshire. Wow. Can you imagine Chuck Norris in the White House? Better yet, Steven Colbert smiling at every press conference, standing in rank as the Vice President of the United States?

To be fair, I think if I had to choose between Oprah and Chuck there would be no contest. I do however feel sorry for those poor candidates who don't have a good luck charm watching over them. It must be very depressing.

Hillary was obviously very happy with her surprising win in New Hampshire. I wonder if Bill was able to reap the marital benefits of her win? I know it sounds weird, but for some reason they have always seemed like brother and sister to me. I know, image deleted.

The Romney. Are we sure he isn't a robot? Take a look at his face. Scary stuff. Maybe it's what happens when you try to sustain a relationship with more than one woman at a time.

Barack Hussein Obama. Just for a moment close your eyes and try to forget how cute he is. If someone would have mentioned that name ten years ago and told you that a guy by that name was running for president, what would you have thought? Yep, me too.

Seriously folks, I know that many of us have been uninterested in this election. I think deep down we feel that it won't matter who is elected because we have lost hope in our leaders, but I am here to tell you that it does make a difference.

Don't forget that you still happen to live in the most prosperous nation on the face of the earth. I don't care if you like Bush or not, or if you agree with the Democratic controlled Congress, this is your country.

Take the time to look at the voting records of all of the candidates. Lay aside the notion that you must be loyal to your party just because your great grandma's cousin Edith voted a certain way.

This is one crazy presidential election! If it weren't for all those presidential candidate selectors, I'd have NO idea who I truly supported other than knowing which party I'd support. I mean, a lot of the candidates are great, and, as usual, none have exactly the same things that I'd want for people or the country . . .

Kim: I enjoyed this very much, especially the part about Obama. You were very funny, and I agree about the choices not being exactly what many of us may want. But I also agree that we need to be grateful for the privilege of voting, and vote for the best candidate according to our conscience. So many people don't even get to vote. We should cherish our right to vote. However, I have found the primaries very interesting, and am looking forward to seeing the rest play out. Good job!

Good point Mike...... :)

First, you have a good enough sense of humor on this to sub for Jon Stewart or Colbert on Comedy Central ..... but Jon and Stephen have too big of egos or are too insecure to allow subs, instead they run reruns of themselves. ...... Now Kim you offered this summary, and I quote: I don't care if you like Bush or not, or if you agree with the Democratic controlled Congress, this is your country. ..... Keep in mind that the Congress is not Democratic controlled enough to muster the two-thirds majorities that are required to override President Bush's vetoes. This is why children's health care was not expanded this week, even though many Republicans joined Democrats in favor, because they could only get about 60 percent instead of the required 67 percent to beat back Bush. But enough analysis for this, no I am not a pundit, great article! -- Mike

I think Laurel's right about why Barack holds that name. In any case, great article, as always. I think it's wonderful to inspire people to get up and vote. This country is home to all of us and even if we don't agree with all the candidates, we should at least be sure we have a say in choosing one.

Great take. You took a shot at everyone..No political agenda here. I have been saying that Romney needs to reduce the size of his eyebrows. Everyone makes fun of me, but it puts too stern of a look on his face. Huckabee is charismatic and aside from the fact that, as outlined, the sales tax won't work, I like to watch him...He reminds me of Kevin Spacey. Ombama has no program, Hilary scares me, I don't like Ron Paul's foreign relations....Where's JOHN WAYNE when you need him?

You could not have chosen a better title: Lullaby?! Oh, yeah - the pres. choices are yawners - whose least of the worst?

Kudos for this Kim!!! Very well written. I have my own ideas about this election that I can honestly write a book about ~smile~

Adam I feel your pain. That being said, we still have to work as best as we can with the system that we have. So, I would encourage you to intensively study the records of the candidates that seem somewhat viable to you and then make an informed decision. Someone who is just okay is still better than a really, really bad president who might totally destroy our nation! If you don't vote you don't have the right to complain when you don't like what is going on after they take office. Okay, I got a little preachy there, forgive me....LOL! :)

Good article! I like the overall message - that it's important to vote and this particular vote is still a toss-up. However, since I didn't specifically pick a party when I signed up for voter registration, I can't vote in the primaries. And I'm VERY afraid that whoever makes it to the final election vote won't be someone I could be comfortable voting for. Even if one of them is not as bad as the other, I just don't think I'd give my vote to someone who I'd rather not have in the office at all. I really wish we had tons more parties to choose from because limiting it to the two who'll like win the Dem's and Rep's primaries is going to limit it to a very poor choice. If I'm not comfortable with the choice, I'd rather abstain altogether.
