Ten of the Most Fascinating Poets at Associated Content

Associated Content is an outstanding resource for news, general as well as specialized information, and for entertainment. This site is blessed with many talented writers and poets. Recently, I did an article on ten of the most fascinating writers at AC. If you haven't read that one yet, I hope you will check it out. I promise the writers are more than worthy of your attention.

This time around, I want to honor some of the remarkably talented poets that write for Associated Content. Some of them are witty. Some of them are sentimental. Some of them are sarcastic. Some of them are educational. All of them have a definite point of view and many of them tug at both the heart and the soul.

I started writing poetry when I was a child, as a way of expressing my fears, frustrations, failures, triumphs, and faith. Although I've shared very little of it on AC, it is safely bound in a book for my children, grandchildren and their children's children. As my great grandmother's diaries and papers now give me an insight into who she was, I hope that my poetry will do the same for my ancestors.

People who write poetry are a very special breed of writer. They have to be because while many of us love to read poetry, there are those who hate it with equal vehemence. For this reason, poets are aware that opening their very essence for others to read and interpret also opens the door to both criticism and rejection.

More than any other type of writing, poetry is personal. It can be gut wrenching, painful, and frightening. It can also be joyful, hopeful, loving, and caring. It can paint vibrant pictures that make your soul want to soar. It can weave magical stories that make you smile. It can reach into your heart and touch you in way that no other type of written word can.

Poets are fascinating people and they deserve to be heard. If I could, I would name every poet here at AC. However, that isn't feasible so I chose just a few of those that I find utterly fascinating. I enjoy their work immensely and I hope that you will as well.
