Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL), and Sodium Hydroxide or Potassium Hydroxide sold as solvent in floor cleaning products, nail polish, and super glue removers. GBL is closely related to gamma - hydroxybutyrate (GHB), which the Food and Drug Administration in 1990, banned from being sold. The liquid appears clear like water. The effects of the compound causes intoxication, increased energy, happiness, talking, feeling affectionate and playful, desire to socialize, sensuality, muscle relaxation, loss of coordination due to loss of muscle tone, difficulty concentrating, and loss of gag reflex. Some experience bad reactions including nausea, headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, vomiting, amnesia, loss of muscle controls, loss of consciousness, respiratory distress, being conscious but unable to move and death. Especially combined with alcohol or drugs these reactions become increasingly more potent. Overdosing on GHB can lead to a deep sedation, and being unable to wake up for about three hours or many cases cause death. Some refer to passing out while on GHB as carpeting out, scooping out or throwing down.
