Tickets Are Now on Sale for Your Favorite Country Stars in Concert at the Florida Strawberry Festival, Plant City, Florida

One of the fun things we look forward to is the Florida Strawberry Festival, located in Plant City, Florida. This is close to home for us, and they have the most flavorful strawberries I have ever tasted.

The Festival runs from February 28 to March 9, 2008. The cost of a ticket will get you into the grounds. You can check out the agricultural side including the strawberry industry and it's history. This event dates back to 1930 when the Lyon's Club wanted to celebrate the growth industry of the strawberries in the area. To this day they continue to support it as well as many other organizations.

I love to browse the craft area and as you can imagine almost every booth has a strawberry theme. However, the one stop I have to make is to partake in a Strawberry Shortcake. These are decedent but once a year I indulge myself. They also have strawberry sundaes, strawberry milkshakes, and almost anything else you can think that may contain strawberries.

We enjoy stopping and watching the livestock competitions. This area is renowned for it's cattle, fruit, vegetables and dairy products.

There is also a parade and the crowning of the Florida Strawberry Festival Queen. Come early and enjoy our beautiful winter weather.

The midway offers a ride-a-thon which enables you to buy a ticket/band that will allow you unlimited riding on most of the rides from 3.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.

The majority of people go for the Country Music performances on the Southern Chevy Dealers Stage. The concerts are at 3.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. each day. If you are lucky to be early enough you may get one of the 4,000 free seats, which are available over all the shows. You may purchase reserved seating as follows:

Friday February 29^th, Charley Pride, 3.30 p.m. show priced $10 and $15.

Friday February 29^th Miranda Lambert, 7.30 p.m. $10 and $15.

Saturday March 1^st, Jeff & Sheri Easter/TheIsaacs, 3.30 p.m. show priced $10 and $15.
