Hot IPod Add-ons - Griffin PowerBlock AC Charger
A Convenient AC Charger for IPod Nano, IPod Shuffle, IPod Photo, IPod Mini & IPod with Click Wheel
Ever since my sister presented me with an iPod Shuffle as a gift, I use the device everywhere I go to listen to music. I take the iPod when I go to work, and especially while traveling on a plane or public transportation. As one can imagine, the battery level on my iPod is in constant need of charging. I decided to look for a product that would be fairly light for travel and easy to operate. During my search, I came across the Griffin PowerBlock while shopping at a local Best Buy.
The Griffin PowerBlock supports the iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod Photo, iPod Mini & iPod with Click Wheel. The package comes with the Griffin PowerBlock, which allows you to charge the iPod using any 110-240 volt AC outlet. Also included in the package is a cable that can be used to connect the iPod to your computer using a USB port. The cable is a great way to charge the iPod Shuffle if I want to use my computer instead of plugging the Griffin PowerBlock into the wall socket. However, it would be rare for me to have access to a computer when I am traveling.
The unit’s size is 2 1/2" X 1 3/4" X 3/4". The Griffin PowerBlock is lightweight, unlike many of the AC adapters I have had to deal with for other devices (such as my portable DVD player), which weighs a few pounds. I can hold the product in the palm of my hand. I usually put the Griffin Powerblock inside my luggage when I travel overnight or on plane trips.
When connecting the iPod Shuffle to the Griffin PowerBlock, I would first remove the shuffle’s USB cap. Then, I can connect the iPod Shuffle into the USB port on the bottom of the Griffin PowerBlock. The device includes a plug so the Griffin PowerBlock can be into the wall outlet. The plug actually folds nicely into the unit. There is no risk of having the plug stick out, where it can possibly be damaged.
