While doing some last minute Christmas shopping at the local discount store, we purchased The Cacao Reserve by Hershey's. Cacao Reserve is a premium chocolate manufactured by the Hershey Company. The variety that we purchased was the Premium Chocolate Assortment.

The assortment bag of "tasting squares", as Hershey calls the chocolate squares, contained three different varieties. They are: the Premium Mint Dark Chocolate with 65% cacao, the Premium Milk Chocolate with 35% cacao and the Premium Dark Chocolate with 65% cacao. My husband prefers the premium dark chocolate, while my favorite is the premium mint dark chocolate. All three varieties are truly rich and creamy.

The stand-up bag containing the chocolate squares has an allergy information statement. This information is extremely important especially if you cannot eat certain foods.

The chocolate squares are contained in a nice golden colored stand-up bag. There is a description of the squares on the front of the bag and a story about the cacao tree and the beans it produces on the back of the bag.

The brief description on the bag informs readers that the tropical cacao tree has been treasured since the time of the Aztecs for its valuable beans, which are used to make chocolate.

The chocolate squares are individually wrapped and easy to open. Since they are individually wrapped one or two squares can easily be added to your school or work lunch bag. They are just the right size to enjoy a truly wonderful piece of chocolate as a special treat.

Some nutritional information regarding the squares follows. For the recommended serving size of 5 squares there are 14g of total fat, 14g of sugar, 3g of dietary fiber, 10mg of sodium, 5mg of cholesterol and 3g of protein.

The recommended serving size of five squares has a total of 180 calories. However, we only eat one square per serving for 36 calories. Since the squares of chocolate are individually wrapped we are not tempted to eat too many squares.
