Green Bay Packers Destroy the Seattle Seahawks During Blizzard in Divisional Playoff Round

On Saturday January 12, 3 time MVP NFL quarterback Brett Favre showed once again why he is among the elite quarterbacks in the NFL and why there is no need to rush into retirement. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Seattle Seahawks at their home at Lambeau Field by a score of 42-20, moving onto the conference championship game next week. The Packers will play the winner of the Cowboys- Giants game on Sunday. If the Dallas Cowboys win, the game will be played in Dallas. If the Giants win, the game will be played at Lambeau Field.

The weather conditions at Lambeau Field in Green Bay were typical playoffs conditions for the Packers. The snow came pouring down in the form of a blizzard and NFL grounds crew were busy the entire game trying to clean the field as best as possible. Brett Favre had another outstanding playoff game, finishing the day 18 for 23 with 173 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. Packers running back Ryan Grant also had a great game after stumbling early and committing 2 fumbles. Grant had 27 carries in the snow for 201 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Favre is 38 years old and is one of the oldest quarterbacks to play in the NFL. He is coming off of one of his best seasons as a Packer, after leading his team to a 13-3 regular season record.

If the Cowboys beat the Giants Sunday in the playoffs, the Packers will have to face a Cowboys team who they lost to in the regular season. The Packers beat the Giants during the regular season. The Packers would also prefer to play the Giants so that they have a home game.

The Packers had played the Seahawks 4 years ago, when Seattle quarterback Matt Hassleback proclaimed during the overtime coin toss that they would score. His first drive was intercepted by Packers cornerback Al Harris who returned the interception for the game winning touchdown.

During this year's game, the game was only close through the first 2 quarters before the Packers below the game wide open with Favre touchdown passes to wide receivers Greg Jennings and Brandon Jackson.
