The NFL is a passing league, and thus a team better have at least one receiver who demands attention from the opposing defense. These receivers, the best in the league at this moment, have no problem garnering that attention, and in some cases, they even welcome it.

1. Randy Moss - Coming into this season, you certainly would not have had Moss at the top of the list after his exploits with the Oakland Raiders. However, there is no questioning it right now, Moss is the best wide receiver in the league. He now has the most receiving touchdowns in the history of the league (although, his record is not as impressive as Jerry Rice's), and he is now associated with the two best offenses to ever play the game of football. Moss demands that you put two defenders on him at all times, and so even when he is not touching the ball, he is severely effecting the game, making it easier to both run the ball and to throw it over the middle of the field. Moreover, when teams do dare cover him in man-to-man coverage, there is no way he is not getting behind the secondary. Moss may not go down as the best receiver ever to play the game, but he may go down as the best deep threat ever, and he doesn't look like he's slowing down quite yet.

2. Terrell Owens - Terrell Owens has another great year in 2007 that made you think that he is the best receiver in the league. However, Moss puts an end to that conversation. Nevertheless, Owens is still a dominating receiver that has the uncanny ability to get behind cornerbacks, even the one's that tend to be faster than him. And when Owens gets in the open field, there are few receivers in the league with his size and speed, thus he can break the tackle of a safety and run by a linebacker; an ability that helped Owens pad his touchdown total of 15 scores. Owens does drop a ball every now and then, but he more thank makes up for it in big situations, with 85.2% of his receptions resulting in first downs. Going forward, it is hard to project anyone overtaking Owens as the second best receiver in 2008.
