First dates are a thing of beauty. Both are excited, look their best, and have stars in their eyes. Until one starts talking about the ex-lover. It's a no-brainer, but happens again and again all over the world.

But if you absolutely have to ruin your first date, check out these suggestions that will have your date running for cover.

Be Late

If you meet your date at 8 in front of the cinema, it's okay to be late. Because why would your date complain - you called!

Nope. Sorry to crush your sorry little excuse. It's not okay to show up late for your date, even if you've called to let your date know. If it's not a life-or-death scenario, it's common courtesy to be on time.

Bring Along A Third Wheel

You meet your date for a romantic dinner? Just bring along your best pal, because the more the merrier.

Even though a first date can be a little intimidating, slightly stressful situation, it's never okay to bring friends along for moral support. Even worse, instruct friends to ask inquisitive questions about work, income, and other sensitive issues.

Talk - A Lot

You think your date is interested in all things about you? So you talk non-stop for two hours about the outstanding achievements in your past, present and future. And while you jabber away, you might not even notice that your date's eyes have glazed over from boredom.

A good first date is having a give-and-take conversation without one trying to step into the spotlight. Nothing annoys more than someone who brags without end.

Say Yes - Always

Whatever your dates likes, you like too; wherever your date wants to go, you tack along; you worship every word that your date utters...

Sounds like a recipe for a perfect and harmonious evening. Just, it's not. While the strategy to comply with everything your dates wants might have short-time benefits, it lets you look like a dumb nut very quick. If your date truly likes you, he/she will value your ideas and opinions. Even when it means to disagree from time to time.

Think ahead
