You gave me what little information you had which was that the "Denver facility produces a wide variety of liquid chemical products. Raw materials arrive at the Denver facility by railroad tank car. Most shipments are made in single or multiple compartment semi-trailer tankers." (Task List, 2006) My team and I identified underlying root causes and developed solutions. Dispatching, transportation and scheduling, quality control laboratory, production units and operational departments, product loading facilities and operations, and product loading of polyols are discussed in the following paragraphs.

You informed me that Able Corporation is having problems delivering quality products to its customers. This was the basis of my trip to the Denver facility, as you well know. My team members all agreed that if we cannot make our customers happy then they will not purchase products from us any more. Therefore, the customers are the focus but we need to understand what is going on within the organization before we can solve the problems outside of the organization. My teammate, Nancy, recommended we deal with problems with delivered product quality by collecting feedback from our employees. She also recommended screening applicants for qualified candidates. Hiring the right leader to manage the departments will ensure fewer problems. In addition to hiring qualified staff and collecting feedback, Nancy also recommended we improve the delivery system. The delivery system is discussed in the following paragraphs.
