Apartment Living Etiquette

Now more and more people are renting apartments. Across America people can not afford to pay their mortgages. Hundreds of thousands home foreclosures have occurred. Many people have incomes and would like to purchase their own homes, yet they still can not afford to be home owners. Renting is the affordable option. As a result developers are building more apartment complexes.

However apartment living can be difficult. Lots of people live close together. All that separate tenants are walls and ceilings. Even though tenants live in separate units in an apartment building, it seems as if they live together in a great big house. Such close living require tenants to have consideration of each other. However, showing consideration for others can be hard for people not accustomed to apartment living and for people who just do not care about other tenants and are rude by nature. As a result conflicts occur between tenants and landlords.

For quite a long time I and my family have been apartment renters. We have had all kinds of neighbors. Some have been good, and some have been bad. From our apartment living experience I have come up with some simple tips for apartment residents to live by. The tips can help an apartment renter avoid conflicts with neighbors and establish a good rent record.

NOISE
Noise is one of the biggest problems in apartment living. Noise complaints can easily cause a tenant to lose his/her rental status. Therefore a tenant should be careful to avoid making nuisance noise that can disturb other tenants.
