Review: La Finca Mexican Restaurant in Allen, Texas
Embed:
If your taste buds are craving Mexican food, this is the place to go. The restaurant is inside of a free standing building and the outside of the building is painted white with red bricks halfway up the around the entire building. There are also red awnings on all of the outside windows. As you walk to the front entrance there is a big sign to the right with red lettering that says La Finca. As you walk through a beautiful wooden front door you are in a foray and then there is another wooden door that leads inside to the restaurant. You wait to be seated by the waitress or waiter and you will be asked if you want a table or a booth. When you are seated, homemade tortilla chips and two kinds of salsa which brought to your table to nibble on while your food is cooked. One salsa is a mild red salsa that has a little kick to it and you can see and taste the fresh chopped cilantro which gives it that traditional Mexican flavor. The other red salsa packs a mean punch and is bursting with hot chili pepper flavors. There is also a bowl of the creamiest dip I have ever tasted. Sour cream and guacamole are blended to perfection and the dip is thick enough no the drip down off your chips. The salsas and the dip come served in tiny clay pottery bowls.
The lighting inside is not bright but not too dim either. It is just right for a relaxing meal. The tables are arranged quite nicely and spaced adequately enough apart so that when you are sitting down you do not feel as though the customers at the next table will hear every word of your conversation. The décor fits in nicely with the colors of the paint on the walls. The walls are painted a rustic yellowish brown. As you walk inside, over to the left against the wall is a white brick fireplace. During the bitterly cold months of winter this adds more comfort and coziness to the atmosphere. Hanging above the fireplace is a vividly colored sunburst and there is a blue colored half crescent moon intertwined in the sunburst. There are several beautiful cactus plants arranged nicely throughout the restaurant along with luscious green ivy plants hanging in weaved baskets along a few of the smaller walls which add a focal point.
