Terrell Owens Crying: Wide Receiver Gets Tearful Over Cowboys' Loss

Tony Romo's Performance at the Center of the Issue

Yesterday, after the New York Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21-17 in Dallas, members of the Cowboys were interviewed in the locker room after the game. It is quite obvious by the remarks made and the general despondent mood of the players that this was a particularly hard defeat to take. Emotions were running high and one of the most vocal and expressive members of the squad was Terrell Owens, the gifted thirteen-year, NFL, veteran wide receiver.

After a tie game at halftime the Giants eventually took the lead on a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Dallas had a chance to score a TD and thus win the game in the last minute of play, but was saddled by their own mistakes. Tony Romo threw an interception in the Giants end zone with less than a minute to go, but a breakdown in pass protection was most likely the major factor in this errant throw.

To say that the playoff loss for the 13-3 Cowboys was a hard one to take is a vast understatement. Before the game expectations were running high that the team would at least make it to the Super Bowl. When your team has home field advantage throughout the playoffs, this is a reasonable expectation, but the outcome is never certain.

One factor whether real or imagined that got highlighted by the press was Tony Romo's mini vacation on the beaches of Mexico with his girlfriend, actress Jessica Simpson, and fellow teammate, Jason Witten. The press seemed to have had a field day with the issue, often stalking the young travelers, paparazzi style, and sending back descriptive newspaper items that were readily published in the press. The zealous reporters even went as far as to suggest that Giants fans were hiring a Jessica Simpson look alike, Lynsey Nordstrom, to pose in the stands and distract the young and talented Cowboys quarterback. During the game the Dallas had all it could handle from the on-field play of the Giants and it is highly unlikely that even noticed the look alike, if she was even present.
