Why Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers Just Might Win the Super Bowl

NFL 2007 Playoff Picks and Predictions

The 2007 NFL playoffs have reached the final four and the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre are among them. This really comes as no surprise to NFL
fans, as the Packers have been at the top of the NFC for a large portion of the 2007 season. What is surprising is how easy they made it look and the emergence of a powerful running game behind young running back Ryan Grant. Grant torched the Seattle Seahawks for over 200 yards in the game at Lambeau, and it was in the teeth of a terrible storm. Grant will find the going a bit tougher against a fired up New York Giants team in the Conference Championship but he should still be able to gain enough yards to set up the real power in Green Bay.

Favre is simply amazing. At 38 years old, he looks just as good as he did in his twenties, and in some ways better. He has certainly become less of a gunslinger and more of a technician. He was masterful against Seattle, and I expect that Favre will continue to excel against New York. The Giants are banged up in the secondary and have struggled at times this year against the pass. That being said, the Giants did a wonderful job of containing Romo and the Cowboys through the air in their match up. Romo is no Favre though, and especially at Lambeau Field. The weather is looking like snow, and I cannot see Eli Manning competing with Brett Favre in those conditions. In a dome, or warm weather maybe, but not in the snow. For this reason, as well as a very strong Packers defense, I think that Green Bay will get into the Super Bowl with no problems against the Giants.

In the Super Bowl, they will face the winner of the Chargers and the mighty empire that is the New England Patriots. I see an epic battle coming on the billboards. It is apparent that Tom Brady and Brett Favre are heading for a showdown, and it will be the best Super Bowl in years. The best quarterback of this generation, against the best quarterback of the last couple of decades makes for an entertaining Super Bowl.

Very well written as always Rodney! I don't follow the NFL so I can't comment on your predictions, but I can say that you did a great job on the article! :)
