Review: The Podium 1 Speaker - Is it the Future of Stereo Speakers?

I Was Lucky Enough to Get My Hands on This Product Before it Hit the Market

I was lucky enough to purchase a speaker that was designed by a popular speaker designer named Sam Laufer. The name of the speaker was the Podium 1 Speaker Model. What we have here is a incredibly unique speaker that is very different than a lot of the speakers we see on the market today. Here is my review of the Podium 1 Speaker, including the good and the ugly about the product.

This is because the speaker is incredibly thin. A quick glimpse at the Podium Model 1 might lead you to believe that you are looking at a thin paper wall. Sam Laufer designed the speakers with the sole intention of delivering a compact speaker that is both sexy in design and convenient I must say that Laufer did an awesome job as the speaker is one of the best things that I currently own.

The Podium Model 1 happened to be one of those cool products that I could not resist. You could best describe the Podium Model 1 speaker as an ultra thin speaker. The speaker was actually only one-inch thick. The sleek small design would make you think that the sound would only be capable of coming out of one side. This is because there simply looks like there is not a lot of room for much more to go on. You will be surprised to find out that the sound actually can come out of both sides. Pretty damn amazing if I must say so myself.

There are some issues I have with the Podium Model 1 speaker. The design is cool looking and definitely meets the goal of being sexy. However,the Podium Model 1 happens to deliver sound that is unlike any other speaker that you have ever heard before. This is because the sound performance that is coming from the speaker is more similar to live music than it is to recorded music. Some of you might see this as a positive and think that it could never be a negative. Many others do believe it is a negative and could keep people from actually purchasing the Podium Model 1 speaker. However, this did not keep me from purchasing one.
