Smoking in Public Vs. a Pill Head in Public!

The smoking ban is moving to my town. I am a smoker and I most certainly understand other peoples rights to not want to be around it if you don't smoke. My dilemma is that I am the type of person that will change the channel if something comes on that I do not approve of or want to watch. I will turn the station on the radio and not buy or go see a movie that I feel is not for me.

Now that is the quote perverable "Not for Me". Just like I can do without or go somewhere else or not go or leave or move or turn my head, whatever applies. Is the non smoker not being offered these same rights? Is that what we need to be addressing, is someone holding them in these restaurants, bars, clubs or where ever they go, not letting them leave to go to a non smoking section or place? Why does it have to be me doing without or leaving? I understand that 2nd hand smoke is just as unhealthy as smoking, but so is your drinking and getting on the road with me. So is the person abusing Xanax or some other coma induced pill and getting on the road with me.

Now the difference that is disturbing to me, of my deadly act is, that you have the option to leave the room or restaurant or bar to get away from my smoke, you see it coming, I nor my son or even your child, can see the Pill Head or drunk coming down the road and have the option to move, leave, turn the corner or even sometimes walk away! So my question is, again, (perhaps you have read my "Dog At Large" story), why are the efforts of the city and community being tied up with not letting me smoke when I go out? Why not funnel these energies, time and monies, (maybe I should get my noisy neighbor on this one) into getting the doctors with the "cocktails" out of practice or enforce the laws that bars should obied by and at least lessen the dunks and pill heads on the road! Heck I'd be happy with just having the crack and meth houses, that are abandoned homes in towns, where they hang out and smoke and manufacture the death trap drugs, being demolished. That takes city time, a vote and city money to do.
