Cracker Barrel is usually a staple around the country. They tend to have the same layout as every other Cracker Barrel. However, each restaurant may have a different display or set up for the tables.

Setting:

First of all, it can be quite difficult getting to Cracker Barrel as it is off of an Interstate and then there's a small street and a drive to the parking lot. Once in the parking lot, it looks like a rustic old building. It almost has the feel of an old time cabin with the rocking chairs and huge checker games sitting on top of barrels. The only thing missing are the people. It seems there should be some people sitting and talking or playing music.

When Cracker Barrel is entered, the first part seen is the country store. There are many different items on display. If there is a sale, those items are usually in the center of the store with a sign stating the percentage off of the price. There's also usually a guide found for certain prices to know what the new price would be. Employees should help customers know the sale price if they would like to know.

The displays around the store have all a variety of things from toys and candy to garden decorations and clothing.

There are also two counters. One is for getting seated and the other is for paying the bill and paying for items from the store.

Of course, all the displays are or at least look like they are made of old wood.

Once seated in the dining area, it is quite noisy because the restaurant is quite full. People talking, children playing, the clanking of dishes, and cooking can all be heard in the dining area. It is also quite dark. On the walls are old time advertisements for products to keep the rustic feel.

Of course, the chairs and tables also look as if they are older to keep the rustic feel.

Service:

A waiter or waitress should bring menus, both dinner and breakfast as they are both served all day long. At that time, drink orders should be taken. Diners should be able to look over the menu and decide what they want to eat.

It seems that the waiters and waitresses can be quite anxious to get things going and will come more than once and have to be told that the diners need time to decide.

Thanks for the honest review. I've been to Cracker Barrel restaurants in a few different states and have always had great experiences. Too bad your visit wasn't better. I love the food...it's not exactly great for staying trim but it sure tastes delicious! :)

I went to a Cracker Barrel in Massachusetts and loved it, but I thought the menu differed depending on the culture of the region. Good, honest review.

Good review. I enjoy going there occassionally. I eat too many buttermilk biscuits when I go.
