Electing Gov. Mike Huckabee President would give us all a nauseating sense of déjà vu. Remember back in 2000 when the Supreme Court appointed George W. Bush President over the will of the majority? Sure, we were all pissed as hell, but few of us were really scared because we all thought the hick doofus would be in and out in four years and was too stupid to do anything really dangerous. How wrong we were to underestimate the devastation that willful unenlightenment can wreak upon a lazy, docile and distracted electorate. Let us not make the mistake of underestimating another GOP candidate who professes to be a likable yokel, but who is in reality a proselytizing maniac. Make no mistake: Mike Huckabee is not running for President, he is running for what has become the newly created office of Pope of America.

Mike Huckabee on environmentalism: "God made us, and God made the Earth... He gave us the privilege to use it and enjoy the resources, but never to worship it. We're to worship Him, not the thing He made. To me, environmentalists are those who worship the things that He made rather than He who made them." In other words, any environmental regulation that is currently in place and capable of being changed because recognizing that God gave us an earth to glorify and protect against extinction instead of using up and discarding will be undone with a single stroke of the pen.

Mike Huckabee on scientific knowledge gained in the last 2000 years: Huckabee has consistently fought to reintroduce the study of creationism not as a religious tenet but as a scientific theory into the school system. In addition, Huckabee has flatly stated that evolution is a myth in its entirety. Whenever he is queried about such things as measuring the speed of light and distance with results that tend to prove that light we're now seeing from distant objects absolutely had to be traveling for more than 6,000 years, as well as questions regarding fossil evidence that the earth is at least more than 6,000 years old, Huckabee's standard reply has been along the lines of "We just don't know for sure that what scientists are telling us is factual."

Hilarious write up. I'm torn here. I don't have a problem with about half of what Huckabee stands for, which (sadly) is a better ratio than most of the other candidates. Which isn't , however, to say that I'm a fan. Well said.

Huckabee is bonkers. And so are his supporters. It's sadly telling that he gained so much popularity across this country. Much of the world is laughing at us....again.

Alarm bells are ringing. Is anyone listening?

Mike Huckabee's chances of becoming President of the United States are between zilch and zero. His views are indeed dangerous, but his widespread appeal is limited.
