The Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer is a a toothbrush head sanitizer which claims to kill 99 percent of selected bacteria and viruses. What is interesting about this new gadget, the Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer, is that unlike other cleaning gadgets, the consumer is left feeling unsure about the promised results of the Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer.

How I Got This New Gadget For Free

I was lucky enough to receive the Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer for free as part of being in a product review group that spreads the word about different products. There is no payment for being in the group, although there are rewards, including free products. Also, there are no requirements as to giving a positive or negative reviewa bout the product. The only requirement is that the review is honest. What follows is my honest assessment of the Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer.

New Gadgets and Philips

I have been a long-time user of a Philips Sonicare toothbrush. The Philips Sonicare toothbrush is an excellent sonic toothbrush. I have had no problems with the Philips Sonicare toothbrush and recommend one to everyone I know.

Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer

The Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer has not fared as well.

The main problem with this new gadget is simply that there is no way for you to know it worked. When you use other cleaning gadgets, like a dishwasher, the dishes come out visibly cleaner than when they went in. The satisfaction level is very high because there is visual proof that the kitchen gadget works.

The average consumer does not want to track down scientists and scientific proof that their new gadget works. They just want a way to know that it does work. This is the greatest consumer challenge faced by this new gadget.

With this new gadget, that satisfaction level is just not there. You place your toothbrush head in the new gadget, turn it on, and take out later. It looks the same as it did when it came out. You have to just guess, hope and assume that the little gadget did its job.

Carol, I was thinking the same thing. They have toothpaste like that now for kids.

Excellent review. The mfgr should do something like dentists do with kids' teeth- have you spread a liquid which will attach color to bacteria or other gross stuff which will go away when sanitization is complete.

Thanks for the honest review..... the price seems a little steep not knowing if this product really works.
