Are you limited to a liquid diet? Would you like some healthy and easy food options? If you have had oral surgery, you may limited to a liquid diet as you recover from your surgery. Here are a few of my favorite blender creations while I was forced to subsist on a liquid diet.

Cheesy Potato Soup
Place one can of cream of potato soup in your blender. (Any brand will do, but I usually use Campbell's Cream of Potato.) Fill the empty soup can with milk and add to blender. Add 1tbs of shredded cheddar cheese, and 1tsp of butter or margarine. Blend the ingredients until rich and smooth. Be sure no potato chunks remain. Add more milk if your liquid diet requires a thinner meal. Pour the soup into a mug or soup bowl and microwave for up to two minutes.

Banana Smoothie
The night before your oral surgery, place four bananas in the freezer. This works great with bananas that are just a little too ripe to eat. About an hour before you are ready to make your smoothie, place the bananas in bowl to thaw. After the bananas have thawed for about an hour, place them under warm water in the sink, and peel them. The skins should come off easily, and reveal a mushy layer of banana over the mostly frozen banana. As you place all four bananas in the blender, gently break them in half. Add two cups of milk to the bananas, cover and blend. Add more milk to the smoothie if you need the drink to be thinner. This should make two good sizes glasses of banana smoothie, so you can enjoy one now, and place the second in the refrigerator for later!

Creamed Pea Soup
Add one can of sweet peas, including the packing juice, to your blender. Add one cup of milk to the peas. Blend the mixture until no pea fragments can be seen. Add more milk if needed to thin the soup. Pour the soup into a mug or soup bowl and microwave up to two minutes. Once the soup has come out of the microwave, top with a pat of butter or margarine. Gently stir and enjoy!

Peach Drink
Open a can of peach halves in lite juice and remove two halves. Place the peaches in the blender with two cups of milk. Blend until no peach fragments can be seen. Pour the sweet peachy drink into a glass an enjoy!
