The Abilities of Photoshop

Learn to Use Photoshop to Its Fullest Abilities

You probably already know that you can use Photoshop to create web banners and buttons or to create web sites. In fact, creating banners and buttons is rather easy. All you need to do is use the predefined web banner sized canvas that
Photoshop already comes with. However, this is not all that Photoshop can do for you.

The majority of people who are using Photoshop today are not using it to its fullest potential. This software is highly versatile. Here are some ways that you could be using Photoshop but probably aren’t.

Did you know that you could use Photoshop to restore old photographs? You probably have photographs in your old family album that haven’t done a very good job at standing up over the years. Maybe these pictures have cracks or tears in them that spoil their look. Well, the good news is that you are able to use a scanner to upload the pictures to your computer. You can then open the photos in Photoshop and use Photoshop’s Healing Brush, Patch Tools, and Clone Stamp to make your photograph as good as new. (The Healing Brush is an especially good tool. This is because it takes samples of the data that is found in any single part of your picture and then blends it together with what is already there.)

Did you know that you could use Photoshop to correct mistakes? Maybe you’ve placed your finger on top of the camera lens… Maybe you’ve gotten your flash too close to your photo, thus causing the people in your photograph to have a bad case of “red eye…” Whatever the case is, you can still fix your photograph. You can begin by using the crop tool. This will enable you to save a part of your photograph and then enlarge it to a decent size. You can then use the tool that is called an eyedropper and sample the color that is surrounds the iris. You would then use the paintbrush to get rid of the red.

Did you know that you could use Photoshop to add graphics to your videos? Many editing systems will allow you to transport Photoshop’s .psd files immediately into their timeline.
