Each day the world of blogging becomes more popular. Internet moguls who frequently dismissed blogs as insignificant are now starting to take the potential of blogs and their owners more seriously.

Now, there is no stopping the blogger. New personal, informative, advertisement, and political blogs are created daily. As blogs surpass ezines, newsletters, and forums as outlets for finding and sharing information, one must stop and ask - why?

Blogs are easy to start, easy to use, and easy to maintain. Free blog services are available across the Internet, and those that are not free are easy to implement. If you can follow simple instructions, you can start a blog.

Interactive blogs give both owners and readers tons of freedom. A blog owner can write, edit, or delete a post at will. There is no minimum or maximum word count requirement. The owner can choose whatever niche he or she desires and write as little or as often as he would like.

It's easy to syndicate a blog. Most free blog services offer syndication capabilities as part of their blogging platform. Syndication draws attention to your writing and ensures your work will be read by others.

A blog is a unique source of information and should be taken seriously. If you're looking to make a purchase or try a service, check to see if there are blogs on the subject first. An individual's personal perspective can sometimes be more powerful than a corporate advertising campaign - and more truthful.

Search engines tend to love blogs and will therefore index and rank them quickly. Bloggers tend to update frequently, and search engines are always crawling the web for fresh, new content. A blog is likely to enjoy an increase in search engine traffic.

Your blog content will reach a wide audience without the current worry surrounding unwanted email and spam. Why send a newsletter to 100 people who are going to delete it when you can publish a blog meant for 100 people who are really interested in your topic? Bloggers also save time by not having to maintain huge e-mail lists.

Newbie blogger here! Ads are easy to ad to blogs too or Amazon widgets. I must confess, it is a bit addictive.

Blogs can also be integrated into your website, encouraging customers to read about you and then immediately click and see the product you're talking about. They can be a way to interact with the owner, too, through comments.
