Proctor and Gamble has been a leading name in household products for many years and is responsible for a variety of different sub-brands that we see daily in our grocery stores or super marts like Target or Walmart. And while we might not always recognize these sub brands as being a part of Proctor and Gamble, we have come to recognize and appreciate many of them just by their logo, their TV commercials and more importantly by their excellence in quality. One such brand is Dawn dishwashing detergent. Dawn is primarily known for its dishwashing formulas and remains today one of the most popular and standard soaps of all that exist in this product industry. Most people tend to stick to the traditional Dawn antibacterial dishwashing soap as their cleanser of choice, for it is the kind that is most readily available and sounds the best, for we have been somewhat conditioned to believe that “antibacterial” titled products are ideal. However, many people do not realize that Dawn dishwashing detergent actually has a huge line of similar products, all designated for a different dishwashing need and due to that tendency to grab what you know from the shelf full of confusing product names, might very well be missing out on all that Dawn dishwashing detergent has to offer. So in an effort to promote a brand that has served me well and additionally to help others in making the most of their dishwashing experience and success, I will analyze and compare a couple of the latest Dawn dishwashing detergent products that are in existence today in the household item market; I will focus on the few that I use the most, personally.

Takeaways
  • Dawn dishwashing detergent is well known to many families across America.
  • Dawn Oxi is a type of Dawn dishwashing detergent that leaves you with soft hands.
  • Dawn Direct Foam is said to cut through grease the best according to Dawn dishwashing detergent.
Did You Know?
Dawn Direct Foam dishwashing detergent commercial is characterized by a talking goldfish who discusses the products scarce need for water.

Remove the name "Original" if it is not your intent to sell the "Original". Be honest with us, or we will just walk away.

I just bought dawn -after using it for many years, would like to tell you -the new cap is terrible for me. I am almost 77 yrs old & have arthritis in my hands very bad -& I could not put the cap back on -I finally did get it off -but couldn't get it back on. Fortunately, I still had my old bottle w/the cap on. It fits perfectly -BUT I couldn't get the old one off -my daughter came by & managed to get the whole thing off with plyers. Will I have to retain this cap through many bottles of dawn -(if it holds up that long) or will you make a change for the good of us handicapped people? Thanks for letting me bloe steam!

I love Dawn - always have but hate hate hate the bottle - I have gone to dumping the Dawn into another bottle when I purchase it - not a good product advertisment. The cap is also always a mess. I have used Dawn since our cat fell into some oil and our Vet said to use Dawn to clean her up as that is what they used to clean up the ducks after an oil spill in the lake. I love it but feel badly when I dump it into a competetors container. Many broken dishes have happened with picking it up and dropping it in the sink. Please change your bottle!!!

what brilliant mind designed this "can't pick up" dawn bottle--I have used nothing else for years and tonight reaching for it under the cabinet and having no grip thought you deserved question--what was wrong with the original design?

Rarely do I have the opportunity to rave about a quality product anymore. I cannot understand those who complain the cap is difficult to open..and I am 78 and certianly NOT a rocket scientist! Forget the cap! After years of buying the generic fake dish soap, (simply because of the cost) I bought my first bottle of dawn in many years, and will NEVER buy another brand. Go ahead....try other brands with a cap you can handle! The caps certainly can't be more frustrating than your medicing bottles! Try a cheaper product...you will be sorry! NO, I am not an employee of P&G ...just love to give praise when praise is long overdue.

I am very annoyed that the Dawn original formula was changed recently. Why fix something that is not broken? Palmolive still has the same original formula, so why was Dawn changed? It no longer has the same scent or the same cleaning power. The original formula was very concentrated and got the job done. The new Dawn is seriously watered down and barely cleans at all. It is very noticeable that the quality of the product has gone downhill. I will not be purchasing ANY Dawn products in the future unless the original formula Dawn is restored to the market.

I have used Dawn dish washing liquid since it first came on the market. I don't know what you have done to the original formula, but the one that I am using now simply will not make any soap suds. I have to use more and more to get my dishes sqeeky clean. I noticed this action on my last two bottle of the original Dawn. The third one I just threw in the trash and have bought another brand. You had a great formula for years and years, but it no longer is a good product. I was very dissapointed with the changes and will not buy it again.

Having used Dawn for most of my adult life, I REALLY hate to switch to something else but I most certainly will if you don't return to the old bottle AND cap design. Really . . .who did the research on this? Trying to pick up this new bottle from under the sink (with wet hands) is nearly impossible. I suppose if I kept it on a shelf ABOVE the sink, it might be okay, but how many people out there do that? Also, WHY do manufacturers insist on "fixing" something that's not broken? PLEASE GO BACK TO THE OLD DESIGN!!!

I love Dawn dish soap, but the new design of the bottle absolutely sucks! The first bottle I bought I ended up dropping because I couldn't grib the bottle. Soap went all over my kitchen floor and then the inside of the cap broke off so I couldn't squeeze it to get the soap out I had to just pour the soap out. The second one I almost dropped again. I have to use extreme caution when using this new bottle and quite frankly that is stupid thing to have to do. I really like Dawn, but this is ridiculous. PLEASE change the bottle back to the old design!

I have used Dawn for dishes for many years. I now have to find a new product--I will never buy another of these bottles of Dawn. I wear rubber gloves for washing dishes. It is impossible to pick up this bottle. Also, I keep a small bottle on counter top and like to re-fill it from a larger one. Well. forget that, too!!!~!
