Moveable Bunny Easter Card Craft

This moveable Easter Bunny card is a fun vintage inspired card craft for adults and tweens. You will be making an Easter Bunny from an old Coke can and creating a shabby chic metal Easter bunny that is attached to the card of your choice.

To Make This Shabby Chic Easter Bunny Card You Will Need:

1 Coke Can

Card Stock

Envelope

Tin Snips

Butterfly Tabs or Rivets

Hole Punch

Sand Paper

Milk Paint

Paint Brush

To get started you will want to cut out one 1 inch circle, 1 2 inch circle, and 6 long thin ovals. The ovals need ot be about ½ inch wide and 2 inched long. Trace these shapes onto paper with pencil, then cut them out.

Assemble the shapes into a bunny to make sure you like the look. You can customize the sizes to suit your Easter bunny and card size.

Now, cut open your Coke can with your tin snips. You wan tot cu the top and bottom off of the can, then cut up the side to open it into a sheet of metal.

Trace the body shapes of your Easter bunny onto the metal Coke can with your grease pencil or Sharpie type marker. Cut these shapes out with the tin snips.

Tip: Buy smaller tin snips, not the super large industrial size. You can also use a very sturdy pair of scissors as well. Coke cans are rather thin.

Sand the edges with some fine grit sand paper. This is a very necessary step, so do not skip it.

Finally, paint both sides of the body parts with milk paint. You can use a pastel yellow, blue, pink, or even white milk paint. You need to use milk paint because it is a prier as well, which means it will have no problem sticking to the metal Coke can. If you are using another type of paint, you must prime first.

Now, once the paint dries you want to punch a hole in each pie where they will touch each other with a nail. To do this I like to assemble the Easter bunny on a work table or work board I can nail into. Overlap the arms and legs on the body. Place a nail where these pieces over lap and punch a hole.

Now, use the metal buttery fly tabs to assemble your Easter bunny. Glue the main body fo the bunny onto the e card with a hot glue or strong white glue. Do not glue the arms, ears, or legs.
