Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Buy Clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch

Shopping at Abercrombie is like Soooo 2003

Let's cut right to the chase. Here are the Top 10 reasons why you should not buy clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch. Some of the reasons have to do with the clothes themselves. Others have to do with the
culture surrounding the clothes, a culture defined by being super-thin, super-shallow and super-snooty. Here goes:

10. The clothes are way overpriced. $70 for a pair of jeans? $68 for a basic button-down shirt? $88 for a sweater? Come on. I mean I know some brands charge several hundreds of dollars for their clothes, but they're marketing to wealthy adults, not 16-year-olds who work at CVS. And the prices wouldn't be so bad except...

9. The quality of the clothing, and specifically the jeans, is highly questionable. I bought two pairs of jeans from Abercrombie about two years ago, before I wised up. Usually I spend between $30 and $40 on a pair of jeans at other stores and they last me until I get sick of them and throw them out.

I spent $60 each on these two pairs and within one year they were both full of holes and unwearable. Patches to cover the holes would have been pointless. The holes were huge. And there was no reason for them. I hadn't worn the jeans more often than any others. Probably less, actually. And I hadn't been playing rugby in them, so there was no unusual wear and tear.

It just came down to poor quality. Maybe that's the point, though. Maybe they want you to end up in really holy jeans so you can walk around half-naked, like most of the models in their ads. Which leads me to my next reason not to buy clothes at Abercrombie...

8. Have you seen the Abercrombie ads? In the store, in magazines, and in their own, now-defunct-because-it-was-too-racy magazine/catalog, A&F Quarterly? One word: softporn. And do you really want to be subjected to softporn when you go to buy a T-shirt?

i agree it is a little pricey in those stores, but they do look nice. i dont think anyone younger than 15 should really be shopping there since no body but pedophiles really care what they look like. I don't see a real reason to HATE the store, and I don't see a real reason why people should FIGHT for the store such as calling you a bitch. I guess it comes down to low self-esteem or pride. It's just as store. They don't care about what anyone had to say about them, good or bad.

Alright i admit i shop at abercrombie, but hollister is my usual place, Id like to just add my opinion, 1. Yeah they overprice clothes and people still buy them? Thats business right? Plus i like how they look on me, im average, maybe a little short but abercrombie in no way makes me feel fat, another thing, i have pants from 8 grade from their and theyre still holding up fine, ive grown since then, so i dont wear them anymore. Now, the atmosphere of the stores, yeah they play music and the lights are down low, but they are trying to sell clothes, make it seem like you buy abercrombie, your cool and might look like the half naked guy on the poster, and yes they arent wearing anything but jeans, but dannggg arent they nice to look at? Call me what you want but i like hollister and abercrombie, not because ill think im cool, but i like the style and how they fit on me, they arent emo and gothic and disturbing like spencers and hot topic, they are more conservative.

The article has a few VERY true points like: -DEF OVER PRICED for what a&f is offering -Very loud music+extreme pungent smell can be a bit much sometimes but its not JUST for skinny people and if u like a&f but hate the prices,go to the CLEARANCE part of the store!!unless u have got to have it(i know these urges) lol like MANY name brands, abercrombie isnt the only one showing lots of exposed people.Sexuality isnt something to look down upon. im not an abercrombie mega fan but once in a while i will buy an item or two from there and then buy otgher items from other stores. Mix it up,keep it interesting.like any other stores and when u wear abercrombie or any name brand, dont act like a douchebag/stuck up bitch.make a GOOD statement and take it from me about abercrombie...i used to work there LOL

well actually, they rnt high quality, im only 110, and my abercrombie jeans ripped up, i wore them like maybe 7 times, and they were ripped, my other jeans ive had for like 3 years!!!!!!

u ruined the jeans by bein to fat... no kiddin, dont really know why. But I can tell you, Brands like Abercrombie and Hollister have high quality material, they always feel good, look good, and any thing else you can imagine. . . They dont have all pant that have holes in them, if you dont like the rips than dont buy em!! How can you no expect, already ripped pants, to not get ripped anymore. In my experience, as long as you take care of your clothing, that will rarely happen. Dont know about you, but why wouldnt you want to see soft porn?? I mean, soft porn isnt that bad, abercrombie def. isnt even near it. . . but I mean, theres nothin wrong with it!! " The reason they call it soft porn is because it dont get you hard!" lolololololololol

About the jeans wearing out too quickly: The only ones I have noticed this happening to are the ones that come with a tag that says something along the lines of 'These jeans are stressed so that they look very worn. This will cause them to wear out very quickly, therefore they may not last as long as other jeans.' Personally, I do not buy the stressed jeans for that reason. I have found the regular abercrombie jeans last just as long as any other jeans I have. The main difference is the A&F jeans look really great on my figure. (And I'm NOT a waif by any stretch of the imagination) Oh, and if you don't like the generic music blasting in the stores (like me), GO ONLINE TO SHOP, YOU TWIT!

I'm not sure who upset you, or hurt your feelings at an A & F store, but writing an angry article with little to no factual information just makes you look like an a**hole. The jeans are actually larger than the size says, for example, I normally wear a size 4, but in A&F jeans, I wear a 2. Making the customer feel fat is NEVER a good marketing strategy, no matter where you work.
