Forget the dog days of summer, welcome to the Dog Days of the NBA season. It's late January, and let's face it; many of the teams know where they stand in the league right now. Many teams can count themselves out of the playoff race, and thus you have a lot of the players on those teams either just counting the games until their summer vacations or trying to pump up their stats.

The players on the teams that have established themselves as contenders may tend to cruise into the playoffs, opting to rest up for a little while in anticipation of trying to finish the season strong.

No matter what type of player you have, you are affected by the Dog Days of the NBA, and thus we have taken that into account in this edition of the fantasy basketball rankings.

KevinGarnett - (19.3 pts, 9.9 reb, 3.6 ast, 1.5 blk) - KG reclaims the lead at the power forward position despite dropping below double-digit rebounds for the first time this season. However, he simply has been playing fewer minutes as a result of the Celtics dominance, of which is predominantly responsible for. KG leads all NBA power forwards in player efficiency, and is especially dominating in the assist rate category where he gets almost 50% more assists per touch than the average of all the other top power forwards in the league.

CarlosBoozer - (23.0 pts, 10.8 reb, 2.9 ast, 0.5 blk) - Booooooooooozer! I just like writing that. Boozer has continued to dominate and he is helping lead the Jazz to a mid-season turnaround as they start find their touch from a season ago. Boozer's dominance is especially prevalent on the boards, where he leads all power forwards in rebounding-rate, especially on the defensive end where no one comes even close. And obviously, his scoring is of note, because he leads all power forwards in that statistic as well.
