Savannah, Georgia has a singular beauty about it that can't be matched by any other city in the United States. Possibly one of our most historically significant cities, Savannah is laced with history around every corner. Museums, historical gardens, and a riverfront that teems with great food and interesting shops will take your breath away. You could easily spend several days exploring all the nooks and crannies of this city and its surrounding islands, but as we only have one day, you'll only be exploring the very best.

Wake up Early On Tybee Island at any of the luxurious vacation lodgings available, and take a morning stroll along the beach. As the waves from the Atlantic Ocean lap, you will stroll much farther than you will anticipate, as the view seems to draw you toward the horizon. Along the way back, you need to stop at a little restaurant called "The Breakfast Club." This is where all the local Tybee Island residents go in the morning, so be prepared to wait in line for a while. It's definitely worth the wait, however, as the Tybee Island institution has been a favorite for years.

After breakfast, make your way inland to explore the city. The early afternoon is the best time for a romantic stroll through the historic gardens of Savannah, taking in the sight of Spanish moss dangling romantically from every tree, just as you would picture it. The garden from the movie and book "midnight in the garden of good and evil" is in Savannah, and visiting it is a must. Try also to take in at least one of the fascinating museums that abound in Savannah, and take your date for a stroll along the riverfront, a perfectly preserved early American street which abounds not only in history, but also in ornate little visitor's shops from you can purchase anything from pirate hats to postcards.
