When you start cleaning your screen you will need the following: A working gardening hose (with a functional faucet), a flat clean surface, a cleaning spray product of your choice [make sure you can clean screens with it], a soft bristled brush, a toothbrush, and a drying place.

It is definitely best if you decide to clean your window screens outside, however, if you must clean it inside then it is definitely best that you use your bathtub. You will want to do everything either with a re-attatchable shower faucet or the regular bathtub faucet.

Time to Start Cleaning
First off - you want to make sure that you remove the screen from the window/door and put it on a flat surface. You will want to turn on the gardening hose and start spraying through the window screen. You will want to make sure that you spray it thoroughly until you have everything wet enough. Now start spraying the screen everywhere with the cleaning solvent of your choice. You may also want to use a mix of ammonia and water as well - as you will have great results!

Now be careful - as many people can damage their screen with too much scrubbing. Remember - you definitely want to make sure that the screen is soaked and that the cleaning detergent is actually cleaning out all the bugs, dirt, and other nasty objects for you.

Scrubbing the Window/Door Screen
Now you will want to bring out your soft bristled brush and begin lightly scrubbing every single nook and cranny of the window screen. The toothbrush is to make sure that you are getting the hardest to reach places such as in-between, around the corner, and even around the hard to get edges as well.

You will want to find a clean place - preferably a towel or cloth; and make sure that the screen is completely dry before you put it back on the window. You will want to avoid scrubbing to dry to increase drying; you may want to consider rinsing out all the cleaning detergent after awhile with water - then shaking the screen to get all the water out.
