Emo MySpace Layouts
Social networking sites are becoming increasingly popular with people under twenty five. They are even more popular amongst people who are still in their teens. High school kids are using social networking sites such as Myspace
to carry their high school personas online. Not only do kids have to look cool for school, they now have to look cool for the web. Fortunately Myspace allows users to completely personalize their sites. Everything from the music playing in the background, the color; even the page layout can be customized. Ultimately a person's Myspace page will look and feel the way it does based on the persons personality.
High school kids are full of personality. Hormones, peers, school; all of these play an important part in making up the high school kid's psyche. Maybe this is why so many of them are drawn to emo, and emo music. Emo culture occupies that blue space in between gothic and punk. The music is not quite punk, it is not quite rock. In fact it is hard to categorize emo music. About the only thing that is common between bands is the subject matter. Often times it is about teenage angst, relationships; the usual. A high school kid who is into emo might want to stylize their Myspace page to reflect that fact. How does one go about doing this?
Myspace allows people to add HTML and CSS tags to areas of their profile. These tags affect the look and feel of the page. Fortunately one does not need to know HTML or CSS in order to take advantage of this. There are a number of websites that will generate the code. The person simply needs to cut and paste the code into the appropriate field in their profile. One of these websites containing a code generator is Myspace Aid. The code generator works like this. The user can choose a category and then pick a predefined template to use. The code for that template will be displayed for the user to cut and paste.
