Taco Bell Fresco Meals
Cut The Fat From Your Diet But Not The Taste
Eating out is something my family and I do often. The problem with that is so many times I am tempted to eat something that isn't healthy.
One website that has really helped me to track my food and calories is through Sparkpeople. The best thing is that it is totally free. With Sparkpeople it allows me to be held accountable for all of the food that I consume. Looking at all of the different foods that are high in fat and calories is truly an eye opener!
I work outside of the home and sometimes I make bad choices for my lunch. One of my favorite places to chow down at when I'm eating on the run has to be the ever famous Taco Bell.
I love the Steak Chalupa Baja and the Nachos Supreme. The problem is after researching the fat and calorie count on both, it really flew me for a loop.
After tracking the fat and calories for the Chalupa and the Nachos I realized that with just one lunch, by eating those two items it really packed a whopping punch to my calorie consumption! The Steak Chalupa Baja is a dreadful (but tasteful) 390 calories and 24 grams of fat! The Nachos Supreme is even worse containing 440 calories and 26 grams of fat. That means if I ate both for lunch that was 830 calories just for my lunch! I realized I couldn't go on like that or I was heading to being seriously overweight and leading an unhealthy lifestyle.
I stumbled upon the Taco Bell Fresco line one day when I was dining in at Taco Bell. The food looked very healthy, but I was hesitant on trying something new. I was worried there would be less taste and flavor and I would end up throwing the food away. I was also concerned that maybe the food wouldn't fill me up if it was low fat and I would be eating more and thus ruining my chances to lose weight. I guess those are just excuses that people use to avoid starting their diets, and unfortunately I am one of those people.
I did wake up one morning and decide to take the plunge to lead a healthier lifestyle.
