Protest by Illegal Immigrants Proves that Police Don't Care

Hey Police! the Illegals Are RIGHT OVER THERE!

It's official: illegal immigrants simply have more rights than regular US citizens. And I'll tell you why: BECAUSE THEY'RE ILLEGAL. They are, by definition, breaking the law by being in this country without legal citizenship, documentation, et cetera. And with this rise of town ordinances that LOOK like they'll finally be making a difference by banning/punishing those who HIRE or RENT LIVING SPACE to illegal immigrants - it's just becoming more and more clear that while the CITIZENS care, the POLICE don't.

Because in all the photos of the protests, the police are in view to "keep the peace", but the law-breakers are RIGHT OVER THERE!

Let's try an analogy. Let's say that the solidarity isn't for illegal immigrants, it's for another group of law-breakers. Let's say the "Car Stereo Stealing Coalition" was having a march, trying to protest a law increasing the penalty for stealing car stereos. Which means there's about 300 people who have STOLEN CAR STEREOS and are practically CONFESSING to the crime. And the police are there to make sure nobody HURTS the thieves while they march, holding high their stolen car stereos to prove they are members of the CSSC.

How about the "Cuban Cigar Connoseurs"? Marching in a puff of smoke from illegally-purchased cigars down the street, possibly wearing Castro beards. Blowing their illegal smoke right in a police officer's face. Possibly asking them for a light! Just please don't let those other protestors throw water on my beautiful Cubano, eh?

This law makes sense, if you think about it a LITTLE. Okay, rent to a family of illegal immigrants, and you get penalized. Try thinking about it harder, because there's nothing about DEPORTING THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS there. If you're illegal, your landlord gets slapped and punished, and your biggest worry is trying to find ANOTHER PLACE to rent and get THAT landlord punished. And the same thing with the jobs. Imagine if your boss of ten employees hires one illegal. And then your BOSS gets arrested. Sure, the illegal has to leave, but don't you think YOUR job is in danger with your boss in prison or something?

Illegals should be sent back to whatever country they cane from. Illegals aren't just doing jobs the American people won't do. They are doing EVERYTHING!!!!!When they have a rally, get the Marines,etc. if necessary, to round them up! They won't have to hunt them. They only have to work 8 quarters for social security;Americans have to work 40! They politicians that swore to uphold the law of the land should do as they swore!Do your damn job. Americans won't have money for their social security when they get old enough because there will be no money left. They have no rights to anything! They government should quit rewarding people for breaking the law! If there are 12 million people here illegally, do you really think all of them are picking peacches, or doing jobs no one else wants? Please tell me how did we ever make it this far without the illegals?? Go home, come back the right way. Get in line!

Sgaringer, I only "disparagingly" answered one of your questions. As for your question about "placement of the lines" - in the analogy the lines aren't placed. They're waiting lines - waiting to get a job or healthcare. As for children born in the US from illegal parents, they're citizens here. I don't have as much of a beef with them, since they're born here and have the best chance to make use of citizenship. Learn English, legally have rights to our country's assets, and from there - who knows? It's their criminal parents I'm objecting to. And while it sucks that it would "destroy families" - nobody bitches when parents commit OTHER crimes and go to JAIL and kids are left to social services or non-immediate family. Same deal.

Discussing ex-inmates is a great idea; but a completely separate issue, and most of the jobs I was referencing are freely allowed to discriminate against ex-inmates solely because of their past convictions. The other barriers to ex-offenders getting jobs are numerous, but there has been research showing many people coming out of prison from drug crimes WONT take these lower jobs because it seems ridiculous to them to work for such low wages, and they return to other forms of making money illegal or otherwise. I know quite a few high school dropouts, coming from high school not too long ago myself, and they wouldn't be caught dead working those jobs. It is disappointing to me to read such disparaging responses to my questions, and don't see how you expect to bully people into agreeing with you. Good luck kicking everyone out.

Amen to that, Andre Smith Jr.! Glad someone else out there knows that "illegal immigration" has the word "illegal" in it for a reason. I'm sick and tired of illegal immigrants living their lives in America as though they deserve everything we legal citizens have and don't deserve being treated like the criminals they truly are. As for the issue of the jobs illegal immigrants do - YES, there are LOTS of Americans fighting for those jobs. Try asking a high school dropout what career paths are open to him/her, and how tough it is to get those jobs because they're filled by illegals doing it cheaper. Of course, that's mostly the menial tasks like clerks at fast food joints. As for janitorial services, that "no self-respecting American would be fighting for" - think again. Rehabilitated criminals who have paid their debts to society often pick up those jobs while in halfway houses or just getting back into society. I know this for a fact, and have met a few. Illegal immigrants have no place in America. If you break the law you should be punished. Period End of story. People are confusing passion from private individuals with the jobs and role of government. We have a naturalization process in the US, if those coming into America wish not to comply with our laws as they are not hence being illegal...they 100% should not be extended citizenship they already broke the LAW....HELLO. If they want citizenship that bad follow the procedure... What does it say to all the "other" immigrants whom came in and do come in and followed the rules? Lucky to "be born here"...so it is right then for poor people to rob the rich since the Paris Hilton's of the world are born into wealth? Or to kill a Kennedy because they are born into political power? Such a statement of logic is just as ridiculous. The whole point about illegals working jobs Americans wont do is complete BS. The reason Americans do not do those jobs is because the pay and benefits

I'm not sure what I feel the best solution for illegal immigration is.. but I've read your article & am left with a question. I agree with some of your points, but explain to me in your analogy who decides the placement of the lines? You were lucky enough to be born here, maybe someone else's parents were illegal but they were born here; so automatically both of you are at the head of the line & privileged? I don't see many people fighting for the jobs that illegal immigrants typically fill, do you?

I, love this story and its all true. I, sorry for them who think the illegal aliens, are good, hard working people. I, know better. I, tryed helping a mother of a sick child. By giving her money for the Doctor. Two days later, she came back, with her friends. A gun was stuck in my gut, and they took ever dime I had,a long with other stuff they could sell or traid for drugs. I don't trust any one now.
