When thinking of Valentine's day color schemes, green is usually the last shade from people's minds. However, on this day of love, why not break out of the ordinary and give one of these adorable green polka dot Valentines?

For this project, you will need:

- Bo Bunny Clowning Around Green Dot Print Paper (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)

- Heart shaped stencil

- Pencil

- Dark brown cardstock

- Matching envelope

- Shrink paper

- Brown ink pad

- Small lettering stamps, spelling out "love"

- 1/4 inch green ribbon

- Super glue or other adhesive

- Regular glue stick

- Decorative edge scissors

Fold the cardstock in half to form a card shape. With a pencil and the stencil, trace the heart shape directly onto the Bo Bunny Clowning Around Green Dot print paper. With decorative edge scissors, cut the heart shape out and set aside. Cut a second smaller heart from the brown cardstock. With a glue stick, mat the brown heart onto the green dot print paper and allow it to dry fully.

Place the shrink paper flat onto your workspace. With the lettering stamps and a brown ink pad, carefully print each letter for the word "love" onto your shrink paper. Make sure each of these letters are spread several inches from each other. Using decorative edge scissors, cut out each letter individually in a heart shape. Shrink the paper using manufacturer directions and allow the lettering to cool completely.

Using a regular glue stick, adhere the heart shaped print paper directly to the card. Cut a length of green ribbon and adhere with glue horizontally about one inch from the bottom of the card. Using super glue or other adhesive, attach each of the shrunken letters to the ribbon. Allow all glues to dry before adding a Valentine's Day sentiment in the inside and giving to a loved one.

Takeaways
  • Feel free to create more detail for your card with additional shrink paper.
  • Decorative edge scissors come in many varities to spice up your project.
  • Happy Valentine's Day!
