Reflexologists get paid to apply pressure to certain areas to trigger a reflex response with a specific neuronal pathway from the zone on the skin to the organ or system. If you were to have eye strain you could apply pressure on a specific point on your foot or even your hands. On the feet the area between the second and third toes and the fleshy part of the foot is the target area for the eyes. If you have eye strain you can apply pressure to this area with your thumb and forefinger for a few minutes and your eye strain will go away. It works best if you have someone to do it for you. So you could put on a pair of reflexology socks and let someone else apply the pressure there.
My experience with Reflexology Socks by Earth Therapeutics
I must say that when I ordered these socks I just thought they were a novelty; however they really do work to help you find the zones to massage. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer, so my eyes do get tired before I am through for the night. When I got my socks I asked my daughter to do the honors for me.
I put on the socks and asked her to massage my feet, but to pay special attention to the zone specified for eye strain. I really wanted to see for myself if focusing on the zones for the eyes would actually relieve my eye strain. My daughter did as I asked her to do. She gently massaged my feet, but increased the pressure on the eye zone on both feet. I just closed my eyes and let her work on my feet.
She massaged and applied gentle pressure to the area for about 15 minutes. I couldn't believe how much better I felt! I felt like I had actually had a nap. The socks are a great teaching tool. The socks come with a chart that tells you where all the zones are for every organ and system in the body.
