When you were young, it seemed questions were very easy to answer and your direction on most things seemed pretty clear. Pretty much, you did not over-think things. Most often, you were able to make uncomplicated decisions on the fly. The PPJ decision won in most cases over the bowl of spinach.

Unfortunately, most of the things we have to decide upon when we are kids are easy. Perhaps, this is why it is so easy to make a good or a least a working decision or a seemingly correct decision when we are kids. I think we forget how to make a decision that easily when we age. Issues become more complicated for some unfair reason. As we get older, the decisions we have to make are more complex and have larger reciprocal effects.

Does deciding on things come easy to some?
No one really teaches you how to make a decision. It is all something you experience as you mature. There may be times when you make a decision that is totally wrong. This is how you learn to make up your mind in the future on more complicated things or issues that require multiple perspectives. Learning to make a decision is one of life's little gems that you must learn from experience. Many people will give you advice, but there are life lessons that you have to experience on your own. Making mistakes is part of being human. Occasionally, you can make a wrong decision and by mistake learn a new life skill.

Helping your kid make a decision
If you notice your kid having problems with a tough decision, you should refrain from making the decision on their behalf. Show them how to determine the positive and negatives of the situation in order to make the right decision on how to proceed. You may feel like you should make the decision for them. You want to help them avoid bumps and bruises or from making a big mistake. In the end, this will not help them in the future. Your child must know how to make a decision on their own because you cannot hold their hand forever.
