Even those of us who couldn't give a rat's derriere for sports can name at least two, even three, things these names have in common. 1) All men. 2) All star athletes: Simpson, AFL/NFL running back and Hall of Famer; Puckett, MLB center fielder and Hall of Famer; Tyson, two-time world heavyweight boxing champion; Bryant, NBA shooting guard and Hall of Famer; and Roy, NHL goalie and Hall of Famer. 3) And all have had their share of publicized domestic problems (to put it lightly).

Now, add to the list Cedrick Wilson. As reported just a few hours ago by the Associated Press (AP), Wexford, Pennsylvania, the NFL wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers was involved in a domestic dispute, squabble, altercation, spat that makes him the latest contender for a title of a different kind.

But wait, while OJ Simpson is now known for being acquitted for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman, Kirby Puckett was acquitted on sexual assault charges, Mike Tyson was allegedly perpetrator of violence and abuse in his marriage to actress Robin Givens, Bryant was involved as an accused in a sexual assault [rape] case, and Patrick Roy was taken to court for domestic violence against his wife..., Steeler Wilson was on the receiving end during tody's incident.

Girlfriend Lindsey Paulut, a twenty-six-year-old from Tarentum, PA, reportedly got into an argument with Wilson at his Pine Township residence; fired into the nearest wall two rounds from Wilson's handgun (when Wilson reportedly left and Paulut's mother came to talk to Paulut); and then commenced to engage in a stand-off which lasted "nearly twelve hours" and which required the evacuation of "about seventy neighbors."

Paulut was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment of another person, according to AP and KDKA-TV.
