Lindsey Paulat, Steeler Girlfriend, and Her 12-Hour Standoff

Lindsey Paulat, Cedrick Wilson and a 12-hour standoff: The girlfriend of Cedrick Wilson, a Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, was arrested on Saturday after a nearly 12-hour standoff with police at Wilson's home in Wexford, PA.

Lindsey Paulat, 26, of Tarentum, PA, was charged with aggravated assault after being involved in the standoff, which forced the evacuation of about 70 neighbors. She was also charged with recklessly endangering another person.

The standoff began early Saturday morning after Paulat had an argument with Wilson. After the argument, Wilson left his home and Paulat's mother came to talk to her. During this time Paulat fired two shots from Wilson's gun into a wall.

The police were called after 1 pm, about the same time that Paulat's mother left the house. Neighbors were evacuated later on into the standoff. The standoff ended after about 12 hours when Paulat threw her gun out the front door. She was taken into custody around 12:45 am on Sunday.

Steelers spokesperson Dave Lockett said that Cedric Wilson was unharmed in the drama that unfolded.

This is not the first time this year that a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been in trouble with his girlfriend. Steelers' running back Najeh Davenport was arrested for domestic abuse a few months ago. It is still not clear what will happen to Najeh in the legal system, but he was allowed to keep playing during the 2007 NFL season.

Also off the football field this season, Patriots star Randy Moss is right now answering questions after a restraining order was taken out against him in Florida. Rachelle Washington, who says she has been in an intimate relationship with Moss since 1997, claims that Moss battered her in Florida on January 6, 2008. The Patriots did not play that weekend due to a first-round playoff bye.

Moss is now not allowed within 500 feet of Washington, her home, or her car. A hearing on the restraining order is scheduled for January 28, 2008.
