With each passing year, movie fans find solace in the fact that two sets of awards will distinguish a picture for its achievements in film making and acting. Then there are The Razzies, an "honor" dedicated to those films that achieved nothing other than disappointment and failure.

On Monday, the nominees for the 28th RAZZIE Awards were announced, bursting the last bubble of each of those deserving films. Leading the pack was I Know Who Killed Me, starring Lindsay Lohan, with nine nominations, followed by I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry with eight nominations, Norbit with eight nominations, Bratz with five nominations, Daddy Day Camp with five nominations, and Captivity with three.

But how does one judge the worst of the worst? It's a tough task, but I have a formula.

First, you need to eliminate those films that had no expectations attached to them. With that in mind, the first two out the door are Bratz and I Know Who Killed Me, with the first being a film based on a toy and driven to entice the pre-teen girls with direct to video quality and the latter being directed at tabloid reading 15-24 year-olds that needed to see more than just Britney's demise over the summer. Isn't it lovely to see the role models we create for our children?

Next, you throw out the torture film that no one has ever heard of, eliminating Captivity. These films aren't made to attract viewers, they are designed to make a quick buck off an overexposed genre, and when they fail to do that, they get stuffed away on a video store shelf to collect dust.

There were two things I enjoyed talking about during my time working at the local theater: Razzie awards, and who had the crappiest shift that day. Seems they go together.

Oh man, Norbit was THE WORST movie I think I have seen in something close to 100 years. I saw the trailers for Daddy Day Camp and realized that's all I had to see.
