The luck o' the Irish blooms all around not only the Oklahoma City Metro area, but also in the Norman, Oklahoma area. St. Patrick's Day falls during the Spring Break of both Norman and Noble students. Since our kids will be out of school there are numerous things that can keep the kids busy and that will allow us to have a good time, too. St. John's Episcopal church in Norman, OK will be having a fellowship supper. This is a family friendly event and for more information, please contact 405-321-3020. The Sam Noble Museum of History will be holding the Spring Break Escape from March 17 - March 21. Activities will be scheduled daily including art workshops, scavenger hunts, and more! All programs are free with paid admission!
If you are looking for a more traditional St. Patrick's Day activity, downtown Oklahoma City generally has a St. Patrick's Day parade and most restaurants and other avenues of entertainment downtown offer various specials. While it is generally very busy, a good time can be had by all. You might start your visit with dinner at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill.
The Civic Center will be holding performances for The Beat Goes On: Music of the Baby Boomers by the Oklahoma Philharmonic and The Chosen at Carpenter's Square Theater.
You can bet that no matter where you go into Bricktown, someone will have something going on! Restaurants, shopping, and don't forget to take a trip on the water taxi! You could spend the entire day there and still not see everything that Bricktown has to offer not just on St. Patrick's Day, but on any day.
One of the newest and hottest place to spend an evening in Bricktown is the RedPin Bowling Lounge. It has 10 lanes, restaurant seating for 100, and is located within walking distance to the Harkins Bricktown Theater. RedPin's patio also overlooks the river canal.
In to art? There are several different artists that will be showcased in the Paseo on St. Patrick's Day.
Yes, our great Metro area offers something for everyone. We can't wait to see you out and about! Don't forget to wear green!
