First we will cover the basics of a plasma set. Plasma HDTV sets usually range in size from about 40 inches to over 60 inches. Though the most common size range of plasma set are between 40 inches and 52 inches. Plasma sets are a type of flat panel display that is small in depth and relatively lightweight. This allows it to be wall mounted. Plasma sets are available in both 1080p and 720p high definition formats.
A plasma HDTV set has many distinct advantages. Plasmas can display accurate black levels. This means that true blacks appear as true black on your screen. Plasmas offer great contrast between white and black. Plasmas show very accurate colors and crisp clean lines. Plasma sets have virtually no image blurring or motion issues like an LCD set has. A plasma display is perfect for watching sports or action movies or anything else that has a lot of fast, complex motion on the screen. This ability to capture motion accurately and without blur, as well as the true and accurate black levels make plasmas HDTV sets a front runner when it comes to picture quality alone. However, plasma sets also come with a few drawbacks.
