In Gladys Knight's 1973 hit, "Neither One of Us," the narrator describes a situation she is in where it is clear to both her and her lover that the beautiful love they once shared is over. But--because they still have feelings for each other, or are used to each other--both have difficulty taking the first step towards getting out of the relationship. While tenacity does indeed have its place in life, knowing when to say when--to quote an old beer commercial--does as well.

This holds true especially for presidential races. What I have seen observing the 2008 races are that there are candidates--such as John Edwards on the Democratic side, and Rudolph Guiliani and Ron Paul on the Republican side, who have yet to win a single race. They know they have no chance whatsoever of getting elected. Yet one candidate--Edwards I believe--has said that he is in it for the long haul. Now mind you, Edwards COULD very well have a chance for an upset. If Barack and Hillary don't decide to agree to disagree when it comes to personalities, people could get tired of dealing with it and could defect to Edwards.

On the other hand, if you think Ron Paul has a chance, you probably also believe in Santa Claus or the Fairy Godmother. He has not won a single primary, and, in fact, has come in almost at the bottom of the heap. What are these people thinking??!!

I think that now we need to wait and see. There are still a few primaries left. We have to let the voters decide. When it comes down to it there will be a winner and a loser. But like it is always said "its not over until it's over". This race is not over yet. It will make for a great story in November.

The Clintons sure do not know that it is time to say goodbye. I would not write Paul off just yet. The Clinton's behavior has so upset Democrats they are planning to ditch the Party and they sure are not going to vote for the majority of Republican candidates which makes Paul an attractive alternative should Hillary get the Dem bid. Republicans that switched will not vote for Hillary~they feel she might as well be a Republican. Independents may go Green. Clintons/Bush/Cheney types have got to go. Time for the monarchy to say goodbye.
