The small town of Harrisville West Virginia lies near the Hughes River and is the county seat of Ritchie County. Ritchie County is situated on Route 50 in northwestern West Virginia about halfway between Parkersburg and Clarksburg WV. Harrisville is only a few miles from North Bend State Park, and is situated beside the North Bend State Park Lake and Golf Course.

Visitors to Harrisville WV will found a unique small town. Harrisville offers a few sites that anyone new to town should visit. Arlo's Flea Market is just south on Rt 16 in Harrisville. Arlo's is situated in a large old building (that has previously been a car dealership and later a grocery store) and smaller nearby buildings. In fact, aside from the large buildings filled with numerous items, more selections spill out into the parking lot and adjacent areas. From antiques, to old farm equipment and home furnishings to the standard flea market trinkets Arlo's offers something for everyone.

Located on Main Street (near the Route 16 intersection) is Centaur Arts and Framing. Centaur provides custom in house framing services and a wide selection of vintage art and vintage prints framed and ready to find a home on your wall. A shopper will never know what treasures they may find at Centaur until they visit as the selection changes often.

Just around the corner from Centaur is Berdine's five and dime. An actual dime store that has been in business for over a 100 years, Berdine's offers an amazing selection of old time and contemporary merchandise. Berdine's offers homemade candy, wooden and tin toys, old fashion salves and ointments and more than you can imagine all in a period building.
