Who could or would ever forget the favorite classic shows like Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. These are the shows that many of us Moms and Dads grew up watching. They were entertaining and extremely educational. Although these two shows will always be two of my top picks, they are two programs that are only shown once a day. With Noggin, you and your children will have access to educational programs designed for children in their pre-school years, 24 hours a day. I must admit, however, that at two years old, my triplets have already learned to count and recite part of their ABC's from interacting with some of their favorite noggin characters. So is this only valuable for pre-school aged children; Or is it something that can be beneficial for your growing toddler, as well?

Along side of the reading and interactive play that goes on in my household, we take many breaks to watch some of our favorite shows on Noggin. There are many great ones available, but , with so many programs available, and very little time to catch them, we had to choose the ones have proved to be the most beneficial in helping my children learn and develop.

Dora The Explorer
Remembering back to that first time my children started chanting numbers in Spanish, I knew that this was something that "Dora" had taught my children. As badly as I wanted to say they learned to count in Spanish from all of the reading we do, I knew that my books were 100% English. Not only does Dora the Explorer hold the interest of children from the colorful screen displays, but this wonderful cartoon teaches two different languages. When they teach a new word or number they repeat it several times and encourage children to interact with the TV. One of my favorite things about Dora, is that in each episode Dora pulls out a map and does little education tidbits on how to read a map. This program focuses on languages, geography, social skills and more.

Did You Know?
Dora the Explorer is more than a Cartoon. It is a language booster to help children learn Spanish and English.
