The Apprentice Witch

Amanda Briceston was an apprentice witch. She was also twelve years old. Her birthday was in two days. Amanda was a bright girl with long brown hair and a rather petite body. Her hazel eyes stared at the notice that was on her bedroom door. It said, "Dear Amanda: You have past two tests already to become a full fledge witch. You have one last test to pass. You have twenty four hours to accomplish this feat. Failure to do so will terminate your status as a witch apprentice and your ability to become a witch." Amanda was excited. The day had finally come. All her hard work and effort would culminate into her becoming a witch. Amanda noticed that on the back of the letter was a set of clues for her final test. The clues said, "You must go to the Ender's cottage in Halvestone Glen. Find a mask in the shape of an elk's head. Locate three leaves of Ash. Circle the Rock of Elgor four times. Chant the following words: Lizards, Gizzards, Monsters, Flight, turn me into a witch tonight. After you have done all these things, you must then locate the Shield of Xavier. It is close by the Rock of Elgor in a large, metal box."

Amanda smiled brightly after reading the clues. "This seems to easy," Amanda remarked. It was Saturday morning. Amanda ate a quick breakfast and told her mom that she would be visiting a friend today. Her mother had no idea that Amanda was about to become a witch. Amanda took out her Westerly 3000 broomstick that she had placed in her closet. She also took out her Hemsley magic wand. When no one was looking, Amanda went off to Ender's cottage to complete her last test.
