Your Voice is Love to Me

Remembering Grandma's Love

Melting cream on apple pie, the scent of oven-fresh cookies.

Soft feline purring, gentle purring springs.

Hot chocolate, warm pumpkin bread, a handmade,

fragrant, down-filled quilt of country hues.

Unhurried, careful a Sunday Louisiana canoe ride,

Silky, tepid showers of bubbles in the tub to wash away chaos,

Playful bells giggling in the breeze,

Tepid showers on dusty, crusty wastelands.

Strong oak rocking chair, stories softly read;

Velvet verbal strokes of touch dispelling childhood nightmares.

Memories of rose water encircle me with Mother Love never known.

Your voice, a soft mortal vocal vessel of Divine Utterings. My friend, your voice takes me back to Grandma's love.

Charlie, sounds like your story and mine are similar. Soon I will upload the story of how I learned about Grandma's angels. (It's an excerpt from my book.)

This is lovely. My grandmother was a wonderful human being as well. She did so much for me growing up. Without her love and guidance, I don't know that I would have made it during my younger years. I loved writing poetry to her as well so I can definitely identify.

And you still have that lovely voice, Ann. All these years later, your voice can soothe my anxious mind very quickly. I love you!

I remember when you wrote this poem and gave it to me for my birthday. It was a truly cherished gift.

Yes, Moreno, it is a sad thing to never have known Mother Love. But God has a way of providing surrogates!

This is a sad but beautiful poem. "Mother Love never known" is the sad part.

Thank you, 3lilangels. Writing is was easy... just listened to Ann's voice and wrote what I "saw" when she was speaking to me.

Katlyn, you respond very well to poetry! Yes, there was a sadness, but also gratitude for my friend Ann and her soothing, loving voice. You're so perceptive!
