Every time you open the closet door it's the same ol', same ol', isn't it? It doesn't have to be, though. You can make various garments look completely different simply by changing the look of the buttons. Outfits that feature large, noticeable buttons are ideal, but even blouses with small buttons can be revamped into something gorgeous. When you're finished, people will think you have a brand new wardrobe, and the only one that will know the truth will be you! There are lots of different ways you can change the look of your buttons, and by doing so, change the look of the garment. A simple blouse, for example, can become sparkly and new, just by adding faux jewels to the buttons. Flat buttons that are sewn on are the norm on an everyday blouse, but using a little glue, you can attach jewels in the color(s) of your choice, giving the blouse new character. Make sure the buttons are well attached before gluing the jewel over the top of the threads.
If you're unsure of what choices to make when it comes to decorating your buttons visit a nearby craft store. You won't believe the thousands of choices you have for decorating - or exchanging buttons. Choosing new buttons, with which to replace the old ones, can instantly change the look of the blouse or dress. You'll find buttons shaped like animals, floral buttons, ribbon buttons, and a huge assortment of other decorative buttons.
If you don't want to replace the buttons, but merely want to give the outfit a different look, select faux pearls, satin bows, tiny metallic shapes, small wooden shapes, little ceramic designs, or other choices from the craft store. The possibilities are seemingly endless!
One cute look that you can do to buttons is to cover them in roping. The roping you choose must be very delicate - not big and bulky. Start by gluing the end of the roping to the center of the button. Encircle that end, and continue circling the roping around and around until you've covered the entire button. The roping is available in a multitude of colors to match any clothing. Fabric glue is a great choice for attaching the roping to the buttons.
