A few months back, the shelves of local and major vitamin stores, were filled with Alli after the media created such an intense hype about the product. I had the pleasure, which wasn't always a pleasure, trying this product for myself. After two months I successfully loss 6 pounds and hit some rocky roads along the way. Was it worth it for 6 pounds? Considering that I have not lost more than 3 pounds, prior to using Alli, I was happy with the results. However, there is alot more to consider, other than just popping a pill in hopes to lose weight. For those who are new to Alli, it is a popular weight loss drug that used to only be prescribed by doctors, to patients with obesity.

Pro
One of the pros of this over the counter drug, Alli, is that you are able to lose up to 50% more weight than you would without the pill. This is a great pill that helps to suck up the fat digested in each sitting of a meal.

Con
You can lose up to 50% more weight using Alli. Many people get the impression that they will automatically lose 50%, but the truth is, it is only up to that amount. One may get lucky and lose that weight with the figure (50%), but some may go into this diet and only see a 5% increase. It can be discouraging, which often convinces people to go back to their unhealthy lifestyles.

Pro
This was one of the first diets that I was able to actually eat a reasonable amount of fat on, and still lose weight. Most of the time, my meals were the normal meals I usually would eat, only, in moderation. I was able to eat up to 12 grams of fat per meal, which was more than enough, to fill the tank.

Con
From reading around weight loss forums and the Alli website, itself, I noticed many people were not losing weight. It seems that many people get the impression that fat grams are the only points that need to be counted. Along with the grams of fat, calories need to be counted as well. Many people neglect the calorie part, and feel that they can drink 10 glasses of soda being that there are 0 grams of fat, per serving. There is a whole math equation that goes into the whole diet, which sometimes will discourage people from following through with their goals.

Takeaways
  • Side effects of Alli
  • Lose up to 50% more weight with Alli
