In today's world the desire to do good for our environment is more prevalent than ever. Living a more eco-friendly lifestyle may seem difficult, time consuming, and expensive, but it really doesn't have to be any of those things. Living a more "green" life, as it is now called can be very easy with small changes undertaken gradually. Many of the changes that can occur are also good for our health and well-being.

For example, walking to the corner store for that gallon of milk when you can instead of driving, the walking gives exercise and not using an automobile to get there reduces pollution. Using cloth rags to clean instead of paper towel reduces waste and saves trees. Reusing old scraps of paper to write down phone messages help shrink waste and give a double use for the backs of unused flyers and paper with printer mistakes on it.

While seeking unique ways to recycle; I came across a few wonderful websites with great suggestions, tips, tools, articles, and forums. Each one was absolutely packed with information on making everyday things more "green" and in many ways healthier for us. Surprisingly, about ninety percent of the things we do can be made more environmentally friendly.

The first website I came across was thegreenguide.com. This site is owned and operated by National Geographic. It contains information on many facets of life being made "greener". The site contains videos, articles, and blogs on an earth-friendly lifestyle. The site also contains more interactive features like quizzes and a Q&A section. This site is extremely easy to navigate; everything is very is to find. The articles are segmented in separate sections. Tips and advice appear right on the front homepage, for times when you need advice quickly. They even have fun and interesting quizzes which help you to realize how aware you are of environmental issues and how much energy your appliances use.
