The summer movie season may be winding down but there are still quite a few new summer movie releases left. Here is a guide to the new films, which will be released in movie theaters in August 2010.

August 6th Movie Releases -
The Other Guys, Flipped and Cairo Time Premiere


The first full weekend of August sees several new movie premieres including the Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg comedy, The Other Guys. The two actors star as a pair of mismatched NYC detectives. Veteran director Rob Reiner directs the film Flipped a coming of age tale of first love based on Wendelin Van Draahen's novel of the same name. Cairo Time the romantic drama starring Patricia Clarkson is the story of a brief, unexpected love affair set against a picturesque Egyptian backdrop.

August 13th Movie Releases - Eat, Pray, Love and Scott Pilgrim versus the World Premiere

The most anticipated movie premiere of August is undoubtedly the film version of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir Eat, Pray, Love which stars Hollywood sweetheart Julia Roberts. Whether the film version of Gilbert's bestseller live up to the hype remains to be seen, one thing that is certain is that Roberts many fans will be tuning in. Other movie premieres include the action comedy, Scott Pilgrim versus the World, the story of a young man who must do battle against his girlfriend's seven evil exes before he can win her heart. Sylvester Stallone directs and stars in the film The Expendables the story of a team of mercenaries who head to South America in order to overthrow a dictator.

August 20th Movie Releases - Piranha 3D, The Switch and Nanny McPhee Returns

Piranha 3D is a predictable horror movie about a group of strangers battling man- eating fish. The Switch is a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston as a forty-year-old woman who encounters some unexpected complications several years after having a child through invitro. Lottery Ticket is the story of a young man from the projects who runs into problems when his neighbors discover that he is holding a $370 million lottery ticket. Emma Thompson returns to reprise her role as Nanny McPee in the second installment of the family friendly film.

'Eat, Pray and Love' is one of the films I want to see! cheers :)
I'll watch for some of them on Netflix.
