Going to the movies is an exciting event. Many Americans seldom don't go to see a show as often as they would like due to the fact It can be rather pricey to go not only by yourself but with your family and friends. When I took my three children last weekend to see the hit movie Cloverfield, it was $30.00 to get the admission tickets and $24.00 just to get snacks and popcorn at the theater. A whopping $54.00! This is very pricey and many people simply can not afford it. With the ailing economy many choose to rent movies or just stay home. Lack of extra spending cash isn't the only reason why so many Americans choose to watch DVD's in the comfort of their own home, there are many underlying reasons, such as dealing with obstacles and annoyances that take place right inside the movie theater itself.

Wouldn't it be nice to go to the movies when there is no one else there?

OMG !!!@#%#% LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU!!! Say, Taquanda, where's Lanequa with my damn milk duds. Shoot. IT's hot in here. Why's that fool still running, you know the killer is just gonna catch up by walking. What? no you shut up, I don't have to listen to you. I can't see with these milk duds being passed up like... Hey look, it's Bobby, hey bobby come on over here! This movie theater has sticky floors. shooooot. And people wonder why the movies are downloaded before coming to the theaters.

I think us Americans agree that we have to handle our pesty co-patrons, since we gave up a lot of money in the first place to see the movie and eat the food.

I always almost make sure I get to the first early showing. It is so empty that I rarely have problems.

People like those you mention (not to mention the cost, plus cost of concessions -- OUTRAGEOUS!) is why I wait until it's out on DVD (But then, I don't have kids begging me to take them to the movies, either! Couldn't afford to, at today's prices... and where did the "dollar theatres" that showed films after they were out in the big theaters but before they went to DVD? Now those I could afford!) Nice job, and a good laugh too!

I can't even stand to go with my husband. He constantly tells me what 'he' thinks is going to happen next and even his whispers are loud....LOL. I love him, but ugh, when the person you go with is more annoying than the other patrons; it is time to give it up...hehe. I definitely agree Julz. I prefer to go during the day, during the week; not weekends. The weekend shows are full of crazy teenagers (I have teenagers so I can say this) that just get on your last nerve; unfortunately even some adults to this. Great article!

I"m glad you gave plenty of alternatives to confronting them as I do my best to avoid that unless there is no other choice. Even people with crying babies - I tend to wonder if they are on a tight budget and just sit there and squirm even though the baby is so clearly disturbing people. I do wonder why they don't take the baby out of the theater!
