There are many things that we throw away everyday that can be kept and recycled. Why send all of these items to a landfill when you can make use of them or take them some where and make money. What is Recycling? The most basic definition is re-using items instead of throwing them away. Old vegetable cans can be used to hold screws and nails in a home garage. Old bottles can be used in a wide variety of projects. Soft drink cans and cat food cans can be recycled for the aluminum value.
Many items you throw away can be reused and others can be recycled for profit. Many people throw away appliances that can be taken to a recycling center. Even if you don't want to take these in for recycling, cutting the cord off and saving them till you have a large amount saves the copper and can make you money. Of course you will make more money if you strip the plastic off.

If your walking along a road, how long does it take to bend down and pick up a can. Even if you only choose to pick up the items you can make money on, if everyone did this it would make a huge difference. With careful steps you can begin to do your part to keep the environment clean and at the same time make some money. Find an out of the way place to place some bins in your home. In a garage, a barn, on the side of the house. Have a bin for aluminum cans, copper, brass, steel and led. If you do not have a truck to haul the steel do not worry. Every town has someone who hauls steel to a recycling center. They will be happy to take items off of your hands. Actually with the price of steel at $120 dollars for a ton, if you have a couple of hundred pounds you can take it in your car on the way to somewhere you are going. For 200 pounds you would make $10.00 dollars.
